The legal profession is a microcosm of human nature, full of unique characters and situations. Like all professions, the legal community has its good and bad apples. At some point, most young lawyers will face difficult predicaments involving either more powerful/more senior attorneys within their own firms or opposing counsel. But what constitutes bullying in the workplace? And what can young attorneys do in the face of it?

People generally use the word “bully” to describe a person who enjoys deliberately harming or humiliating someone else. It happens through an emotional, physical, verbal, nonverbal or psychological act, which usually is abusive in nature.
