Goats, lambs, pigs, heifers and steers — also a husband and two teenagers — share the homestead of 343rd District Judge Janna Whatley. Her kids have shown animals in livestock shows through the 4-H Livestock Program and Future Farmers of America for 10 years, so their hobby has become Whatley's, too. "My heart pounds when my kids go out there to show their animals. They're like babies, but we don't name them anymore, because that helps when they go to market," Whatley says.
