If one were to create a name inspired by the founders of Texas and of Brazos County, it's hard to beat "Travis Bryan." Bryan is the great-great-grandson of the man who donated land in 1859 for the town that bears his name: Bryan. If Travis Bryan had gone into the family banking business, he never would have become a lawyer and, later, judge of Brazos County's 272nd District Court.

William Barrett Travis, as all students of Texas history know, was the commander of the Texas forces at the Battle of the Alamo. Less known, unless one is steeped in Brazos County history, is William Joel Bryan, who donated land in 1859 for the town that bears his name: Bryan.
