On Dec. 13, 2010, a jury awarded $2,000 to a driver who claimed an ankle injury in a rear-ender. In 2009, Waintheus Brown was hit by Fred Vondermehden at a stoplight in Houston. Brown claimed a sprained ankle. He went to the emergency room a few days after the accident on his own. About a week later, he followed up with a doctor. After another week or so, he went back to the hospital, and after about two more weeks, he went to another doctor. He had no other treatment.
