On Nov. 11, a mother and her daughter who sustained multiple fractures in a collision agreed to a $1 million settlement. In 2008, Kathleen Ratliff was driving with daughter Brittany when they were rear-ended by Paul Gavranovic. Ratliff sustained transverse fractures at three lumbar disks, as well as fractures of the left third, fourth and fifth ribs, her nose, and the left superior and inferior pubic rami, along with a closed head injury. Brittany fractured her hip.
