A world traveler and distance runner, Judge Karen Pozza of the 407th District Court in Bexar County certainly has moved around. That may have something to do with the fact that Pozza was born in Azores, Portugal, to a U.S. Air Force dad and a librarian-schoolteacher mom. The family home was based in New York, Alabama and England before they settled in San Antonio.

Pozza is married to Dan Pozza, a solo she met at a State Bar of Texas annual meeting in 1995. Both of them have served as president of the San Antonio Bar Association. They have two daughters: Ashley, 22, a first-year law student at Texas Tech University School of Law; and Tyler, 19, a freshman at Middlebury College in Vermont.
