One of Texas’ ugliest arbitration battles in recent memory has resulted in U.S. District Judge David Godbey issuing a $10,000 sanction against Ophelia Camina, a partner in the Dallas office of Susman Godfrey, for acting in bad faith.

While Godbey’s Feb. 25 order sanctioned Camina for her conduct as a defense attorney in Positive Software Solutions Inc. v. New Century Mortgage, et al. , he declined to sanction other respondents to the motion, including Barry Barnett, another partner in Susman’s Dallas office, and the law firm itself, which represented New Century Mortgage in the litigation.
