In a move that marks its second expansion in less than a month, Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz announced Thursday that it has gained a foothold in Florida by joining forces with six-lawyer Orlando firm Litchford & Christopher.

The tie-up pushes Baker Donelson’s attorney head count to 606 and gives the Memphis-based firm 18 offices, most of which are located in the southeastern United States. The Orlando office is the third that Baker Donelson has added so far this year. In October, it entered the Texas market via a merger with a seven-lawyer Houston firm; in April, Baker Donelson opened an office in Montgomery, Alabama, its second in the state.
