Distracted driving is as old as the automobile, but recently the Pennsylvania court system has been tackling the issue with increasing regularity.

"Distractions have been a part of everyday life for drivers forever," said Gary N. Stewart, a Rawle & Henderson attorney who has been defense counsel in several distracted-driver cases. "It seems in the last few years there's been more and more of a focus on the distractions led by cellphones and emailing, as we've all learned those are extremely dangerous things."
