Donald J. Goldberg, regarded by many as the dean of the white-collar defense bar in Pennsylvania, has died at the age of 81 after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Goldberg was special counsel in the litigation department and a member of the white-collar investigations group at Ballard Spahr. He was also a former member of the Federal Judiciary Conference’s Advisory Committee on the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure.
