In a gender discrimination and retaliation suit brought against Reed Smith, a female non-equity partner alleged the firm cut her total compensation by almost half after she was out on maternity leave with twins.

Pittsburgh-based corporate partner JoEllen Lyons Dillon also alleged in the complaint that male attorneys were paid more than female attorneys and the only female attorneys given work by partners were those “who were willing to engage in sexual relations with members of [Reed Smith's] management” or those management wanted to have such relations with.
