Ask law firm leaders to predict who'll win next week's tightly contested presidential election, and not everyone will be forthcoming. But they have plenty to say about how the election will affect business at their firms, depending on who wins. The National Law Journal's Leigh Jones and Matthew Huisman asked the leaders of midsize law firms across the country about their expectations in the event either of an Obama or Romney victory. The firms represented here have between 100 and 200 lawyers whose specialties include health care, energy, finance, education, litigation, intellectual property, tax and more. The responses were edited for brevity. Opinions varied regarding the election's implications, but not on one point: An end to the uncertainty about who will lead the nation will be a positive thing.
