A group of six public interest organizations urges the justices not to go down that road in an amicus brief in a case involving AT&T, the Federal Communications Commission and the federal Freedom of Information Act.

The six organizations are supporting the government’s request that the Supreme Court review and reverse a ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit that held a FOIA exemption’s protection for “personal privacy” also protects the privacy of corporate entities.
