Jay Goffman is co-chairman of the corporate restructuring practice at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. During the past decade, Goffman has been at the forefront of the rise of prepackaged restructuring plans, or “prepacks.” Under those plans, a key group of creditors signs off on a plan ahead of a bankruptcy filing. NLJ associate editor Leigh Jones asked Goffman about the strategic value of prepacks.
