Elizabeth Cabraser’s appointment as temporary plaintiffs’ co-lead counsel in the Toyota MDL was hardly a surprise to those familiar with the mass torts scene. Cabraser, who co-founded San Francisco firm Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein in 1972, has more than 25 years’ experience in complex litigation and been the court-appointed lead counsel or co-lead in more than 80 multidistrict and state class actions.

“She’s a go-to person in any of these litigations,” said Jayne Conroy, a partner at Hanly Conroy Bierstein Sheridan Fisher Hayes. “She’s really bright, very experienced and understands people. She’s an extraordinary communicator.”
