American International Group Inc. will be able to keep secret its corporate monitor reports a while longer, after a federal judge on Tuesday stayed her order to release the documents while AIG appeals the order.

U.S. District Judge Gladys Kessler in Washington, D.C. had ruled last month to release the reports, saying “the public’s interest in favor of disclosure of the [reports] . . . is overwhelming.” She cited AIG’s role in the financial meltdown of 2008 as a key reason for her decision.
