He has spent years answering that question for current and potential members of the Association of Corporate Counsel. Now, as the new general counsel for ACC, Merklinger will continue to extol the benefits of membership in the group—albeit from a higher perch at the world’s largest association for in-house counsel.

ACC tapped Merklinger for the job on July 20 and announced the news on Monday.
