Dynegy Inc. general counsel J. Kevin Blodgett agreed to leave his job at the struggling power generator on Feb. 4, according to a Feb. 8 regulatory filing.

In a bizarre twist, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that Blodgett relinquished a potential payout of $3.6 million to which he would have been entitled if he’d been let go after a change of control at the embattled company, the third-largest U.S. independent power producer.
