Yet as the recent recession took its toll on profits, it became tempting to train a critical eye on processes that were simply considered normal business solutions in the past.

eDiscovery, a task that many firms outsource, is one of those functions that promises both cost savings and greater efficiency as an in-house function. Although the drive to bring technology in-house is not new, the efficiency of the tools now available has created a tremendous advantage in efficiency and ROI. As a result, legal departments are once again considering the in-sourced model.
