An Alameda County judge signed off on a $35 million settlement between Oracle and a class of 1,700 former and current employees who say they were illegally denied overtime pay.

Laura Ho, of Oakland’s Goldstein, Demchak, Baller, Borgen & Dardarian, said the award will provide “substantial compensation” to a class made up of three categories of Oracle employees who had been allegedly misclassified as exempt by management. Ho estimated that each class member will receive about $14,000.
