SAN FRANCISCO — The White House on Wednesday nominated Santa Clara County Judge Lucy Koh to fill a Northern District seat. U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer said in a statement that if confirmed, Koh “will make history as the first female Korean-American District Court Judge in the country.”

The vacancy was created when San Jose-based Judge Ronald Whyte took senior status last year.
