Intellectual property lawyers guarding trademarks on the Internet may soon have a harder time finding the people behind Web sites infringing on their clients' brands. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers is likely to adopt a policy that would let site owners keep most contact information confidential when they register for a name. The stakes for each side of the debate are high: The corporate camp has millions of dollars at stake, while privacy advocates worry about losing basic rights.
