It's the End of ATLA -- or of the Trial Lawyers Group's Name, Anyway

At its annual meeting in Seattle on Wednesday, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America voted to change its name to the American Association for Justice, and installed product liability attorney Mike Eidson as president. The new name is "a good change that reflects what we do and not who we are," says Eidson, a partner at Colson Hicks Eidson in Coral Gables, Fla. During his term as AAJ president, Eidson says he will focus on supporting political candidates who oppose restricting tort lawsuits.
