A car lover since he was a kid combined with the ongoing shift in the automotive industry to electric vehicles make Rustam (Rusty) Juma’s new role as general counsel at Volkswagen Group Canada Inc. a dream come true.
Having spent most of his career in professional services, including as inhouse legal counsel at Deloitte and most recently as GC of actuarial firm Eckler Ltd., Juma said he realized during the pandemic that he wanted to make a change and do something fun that aligned with his interests. Then last summer, he saw a posting on LinkedIn for the VW position and decided to go for it.
