The judicial race to replace retiring Presiding Judge M. Yvette Miller on the Georgia Court of Appeals will remain contested after an administrative law judge ruled Monday that a qualifications challenge launched against candidate Jeff Davis had not yet become “ripe.”

Having overcome the residency challenge launched by an Augusta attorney, the former State Bar of Georgia executive director will move forward with his plans to face off against Cobb County Magistrate Court Judge Tabitha Ponder in the May 21 nonpartisan primary election.
