Experts often play a crucial role in helping arbitrators make informed decisions. Employing an expert in arbitration can be valuable for clarifying complex issues or strengthening your argument. However, using experts in arbitration does come with risks.

As an arbitrator and attorney who has arbitrated dozens of cases, I suggest you keep these three “dos” and three “don’ts” in mind when using experts in arbitration to help strengthen your case instead of detracting from it.
