The Georgia Republican Party has collectively paid more than $620,000 to eight law firms that are defending the so-called fake electors in the election interference case involving former president Donald Trump. These law firms range from small firms and boutiques to an Am Law 200 firm.

Meanwhile, many of the defendants who don’t have the financial support of the state’s party are turning to a crowdfunding website to raise money for attorneys’ legal fees. So far, nine of the defendants have a reported $1.185 million pledged in legal fee contributions.
