A South Georgia attorney has secured a conviction following a federal trial of a Rincon man for his role in the murder of a whistleblower.

But defense counsel for the Mexican citizen, who prosecutors say had been living in Georgia illegally, are now challenging the composition of the convicting federal jury as grounds for a new trial.
