The game isn’t over, but Geico scored points with an opinion from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit that takes a deep look at uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage and bad faith claims in Florida.

Judge Gerald Tjoflat ruled that Geico is entitled to a new damages determination and reversed a partial summary judgment ruling in favor of Mary Bottini, whose husband was killed in a fiery crash on I-75 that led to a $30 million verdict. Tjoflat was joined by Judge Marcus and Judge John Steele of the Middle District of Florida, sitting by designation.
