West Palm Beach-based shareholder David Layman spent almost three decades at Greenberg Traurig, where he managed to mentor young lawyers, prioritize pro bono work and foster friendships, all while remaining an asset to the firm.

Before passing away on Sep. 29, Layman worked in the firm’s real estate group, a key sector in the region. And while his colleagues say his work in that area was masterful, they also touted his personal connections as one of his defining features.
