In 2021, Florida law firms paused their growth slightly as talent wars made hiring tricky, but that seems to have changed last year as Big Law players began showing up to Miami in droves, with their presence driving headcount expansion rates back up to normal levels.

The average growth of Florida’s biggest firms came in at 3.8% in 2022, far outpacing 2021’s rate of 1% average growth, according to the 2023 DBR Review 100, a review of the largest 100 law firms in Florida by in-state head count using data from the 2023 NLJ 500 report.
