South Florida attorneys obtained two multimillion-dollar settlements from the same defendant, who argued as a blanket principle that rural jurors, particularly in deep red jurisdictions in the Sunshine State, wouldn’t be receptive to out-of-town plaintiff counsel.

“There are certain jurors that you would expect would not be friendly to plaintiffs that will be very friendly when it is law-and-order type stuff,” said Michael Haggard, the managing partner at the Haggard Law Firm in Coral Gables, who was joined in the cases by associate Adam Finkel.
