Despite a previous election loss and being overlooked by judicial nominating committees to don the black robe, Caryn Siperstein, an attorney with more than 20 years of experience, showcased her resilience when voters chose her for a seat on the Palm Beach Circuit Court bench.

The incumbent, John Kastrenakes, chose not to run for reelection. Kastrenakes came into the national spotlight following an October 2019 ruling in which he sentenced Deandre Somerville to 10 days in jail and one year of probation for oversleeping and missing jury duty, despite the 21-year-old having no criminal record.
