Abbott Laboratories is facing another flurry of lawsuits after recalling powdered infant formula made at a plant in Michigan. One of the claims emanates from Florida, where a Fort Lauderdale attorney is suing over the brand Alimentum.

At least four class actions have been filed over the Feb. 17 recall, which Abbott announced after three babies in Minnesota, Ohio and Texas were hospitalized, and one died, who had ingested its Similac, Alimentum and EleCare brands of infant formula. All of them either had Cronobacter sakazakii or Salmonella Newport infections. On Tuesday, the parents of a hospitalized baby in Texas filed a pre-suit petition against Abbott in Kaufman County District Court.
