The companies behind dozens of popular sunscreen brands, including Banana Boat products, are in the hot seat after a Pensacola litigator filed a multimillion-dollar class action lawsuit in federal court in Miami.

Jason Richards, a partner at Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis & Overholtz representing Maria Zapatero, said the national putative class action against Energizer Holdings Inc. and six additional entities is in response to allegedly dangerous amounts of benzene in some Banana Boat sunscreen products.
