A South Florida federal judge began two full days of hearings Thursday on whether to dismiss all the lawsuits alleging the heartburn medication Zantac causes a host of cancers.

The hearings, to be held via Zoom beginning Thursday and Friday, with a possible third day on Monday, could determine the future of 1,300 Zantac lawsuits, and potentially 70,000 more claims now registered with the court.
