Managing partners and executives at Florida’s largest firms are sounding a chorus of bullish expectations for 2018, especially for a handful of practices including private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and tax.

Despite some reservations about political and regulatory uncertainty, large law firm leaders report plans to hire lawyers in several practice areas, and more than one firm expressed plans to expand offices in Miami, Texas, California and/or Chicago. Certain practices — private equity, corporate M&A, intellectual property, tax, regulatory and government relations — were repeatedly named as areas where firms expect expansion and revenue growth in 2018.
