San Francisco-based hospital giant UCSF Health has chosen veteran health care attorney Rachel Nosowsky to take the helm of its legal department.

Nosowsky will be the health network’s first chief counsel, and will help shape its strategy and policy. She previously worked for the University of California for more than a decade, serving as deputy general counsel since 2012 and overseeing legal services at all of the campuses and academic medical enters in the UC system.
