An IBM in-house attorney will lead the legal department of the company’s new spinoff, called Kyndryl, an independent company created to house IBM’s managed infrastructure business.

Edward Sebold has been named Kyndryl’s first general counsel. He is expected to begin the role of general counsel once the spinoff from IBM is completed at the end of 2021. Sebold will be based in the company’s future New York City headquarters.
