London-based beer and spirits company Diageo PLC announced Monday that general counsel Siobhán Moriarty will retire from her role after 24 years in the legal department. Moriarty will be replaced by Tom Shropshire, a partner at Linklaters in London and New York.

Moriarty will retire in September. She joined Diageo in 1997 and was made general counsel in 2013. At Diageo, she served as corporate M&A counsel, regional counsel in Ireland and  European general counsel. She studied law at University College Dublin.
