Hellman & Friedman has agreed to pay $1.3 billion to acquire building supply manufacturer Associated Materials from rival private equity firms Investcorp and Harvest Partners, the parties announced jointly on Wednesday. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2010.
