Rankings are based on announced, cross-border M&A deals valued at more than $50 million (including lapsed and withdrawn bids) that involved an emerging market company as principal acquirer, principal target and/or principal seller during the period from July 1, 2010, through June 30, 2012. Joint ventures were excluded if the only asset contributed was cash. Only legal advisers to corporate entities billing at least $100,000 on any side of such transactions are included, not those representing financial advisers and debt providers. Data: mergermarket.
