Steven Ellis, chairman of Proskauer Rose, is stepping down from his position in April 2024, citing health-related reasons, according to a Wednesday firm memo obtained by Law.com. A Proskauer representative would not elaborate further on his condition.

“Earlier today, I informed the partnership that I have made the difficult decision to step down as chair, effective April 2024 for health-related reasons,” Ellis wrote in the memo. “This is not a decision that I have taken lightly and, while I will be fine, I will be turning my attention to my health. Doing so will not allow me to devote the time and energy that the role of chair requires and deserves.”
