Kirkland & Ellis’ first lateral partner announcement of the year is an investment funds partner from Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, John Senior.

As other parts of Big Law corporate departments slow down, including M&A and capital markets, law firms such as Kirkland report continued growth in investment fund practices. As Law.com reported last year, law firm fund practices, including those advising private equity firms and financial sponsors of private investment funds, have seen a flurry of work driven by fund formation and consolidation, fundraising and an active and mature secondary market.
