In what is thought to be the first legal response to Friday’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a Louisiana court has granted a temporary restraining order against the state’s “trigger laws,” which were designed to criminalize all abortions in the state immediately on the reversal of Roe v. Wade.

The TRO came shortly after a group of lawyers from Boies Schiller Flexner and the Center for Reproductive Rights, along with local counsel Ellie Schilling, on Monday filed a petition and request for emergency relief in Orleans Civil District Court against state Attorney General Jeff Landry, arguing the state’s trigger laws violate due process.
