Natasha Harrison’s decision to step down as deputy chair of Boies Schiller Flexner on Wednesday, despite the fact that she was widely seen as heir apparent to firm founder and chairman David Boies, is yet another hitch in the firm’s winding path to transition leadership away from its founders.

Following the departure of three of the four attorneys appointed in 2018 to the management committee, and Harrison’s latest move away from leadership, a different group of leaders has emerged, most of them appointed in the firm’s December partnership meeting: Sigrid McCawley, Matthew Schwartz and Alan Vickery.
