Two Texas firms are abandoning their footprint in China, as Locke Lord and Vinson & Elkins have shuttered Hong Kong offices.

Both firms had already scaled back their presence in the city. Locke Lord saw its entire Hong Kong team jump to London-based Holman Fenwick Willan in November 2019, while Vinson & Elkins closed doors at the end of August, after a number of months without a resident attorney.
