When he was in private practice, Mark Anthony Scott thought many attorneys and litigants were fearful in court. Now that he’s a member of the DeKalb County Superior Court in Georgia, he’s figured out a way to make visitors to his courtroom feel more comfortable — at least on Fridays.

During a hearing last month, Scott announced from the bench that his courtroom would be going “business casual” for the last day of the workweek.
