After spending the last nearly 30 years in Big Law and six years before that in the U.S. solicitor general’s office, appellate lawyer Jerrold Ganzfried is going solo with little concern about the weather ahead.

Ganzfried, who retired from Holland & Knight on Dec. 1, has argued 15 Supreme Court cases and briefed and argued appellate cases around the country. He arrived at the firm in March 2011 after 23 years at the firm that was then Howrey & Simon. Prior to that, he spent six-plus years in the solicitor general’s office.
