Plaintiffs accusing the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) of denying them benefits following a sudden policy change have lost their bid to challenge the rule change following a recent decision by the state Court of Appeals.
The court’s April 3 opinion, written by Judge Jerry D. Vinson, reversed the lower court’s decision, which had certified the class and granted judgment in their challenge to the policy.
